Nicklas Axelsson Custom Meeting workspace site template

It's time to deliver something back to the community!

In a project I recently worked in I found out the hard way that it wasn't possible to save a Meeting workspace (MW) as a custom template to recreate sites from. I also found out through Bing that I wasn't alone in my discovery :)

The other day I was…

Stefan Bauer Bug in XSLT List View in combination with taxonomy fields

One of my customers stumbles upon a strange bug in SharePoint that relies on the list views in combination with meta data and the meta data Navigation. In a special case the list view returns a false result.

The Problem

To reproduce this problem a standard document library is needed. This library has two managed meta data columns named “Color” and “Horse Power”. Both columns allow multiple values,…

Senthil Kumar This is usefull tips I felt So I am sharing - SharePoint 2010 deployment and configuration...

SharePoint 2010 tip 1: Prerequisites

SharePoint servers have a set of prerequisites that you need to have installed first on any server you want to run SharPoint. These include the Microsoft Filter Pack 2.0, the Sync Framework Runtime 1.0, and various hotfixes. The prerequisites are typically installed through an Internet connection your server will most likely have.

However, there are times when that server may not have an outside connection to the Internet or you may…

Louise van der Bijl Creating a theme for SharePoint 2010 using PowerPoint

Something that a "non web design savvy" administrator can do to "pretty" up their SharePoint 2010 site is to change the theme (the theme controls the fonts and colours of the site) and this is easily done with Microsoft PowerPoint.  It is very simple to do and it really helps when you cannot find one of the standard themes in SharePoint to fit your company / personal colours.

So Lets' begin:

Step 1:

Open up MS PowerPoint and open up a blank presentation…

Yaroslav Pentsarskyy 15 minutes SharePoint 2010 Branding session

You know how sometimes your client or boss tells you - "I like it how they did their website - make ours look similar".

Whether its an intranet or public site, the challenge is always the same - you don't have a source code and viewing page source doesn't provide full source.

Even if you're asked to mimic a piece of the functionality - a menu or a navigation item - its quite time consuming to figure out the details of implementation. Let alone elements that utilize… Continue

Nahed El Shazly SharePoint meta tags

I've been trying to add some meta tags in the master page as descriptors and keywords. These meta tags are site dependent. i.e. each site has it own set of keywords.

Any suggestions?

Christian Ståhl Let the Users decide!

You have probably visited a number of public Web sites which have the function "Change text size", where you visitors can influence the text size or contrast as shown on the site.

Click on Black to load CSS-black, or click on Blue to load CSS-blue.

The technology behind this has many good uses in SharePoint, you can, for example, build your design with fixed width but still let the user determine the width of the content as needed. Other ways to… Continue
